Great roof bike rack
I could not find any bike racks that would allow my to leave the front wheel attacked and still mount the bike. The tube on my trek is oval and larger than most. This is the only rack that fits my bike. I mounted my bike and traveled several times between Texas and Ohio. There was a lot of construction and rough roads. The rack held my bike securely during all my travels. It is very easy to mount and holds the bike securely. A great value

A good choice for us!
As others have mentioned, the assembly instructions could be better, but it was not that difficult to ascertain the proper method. We wanted a carrier for local trips (no long interstate trips) and this fits the bill. We installed two of these on our Yakima rails atop our 2013 Jetta Wagen and they work well! Seem to be well made and sturdy. Not sure the locks are all that secure, but it is only a deterrent, and we don't usually leave the bikes/car unattended.

Terrible instructions to assemble. A waste of time
Assembling this rack is torture. It took 2 reasonably intelligent guys an hour. Not worth it. I’d pay more next time for a rack that’s assembled. Quality is ok. The ratchet straps are not easy to release. My Yakima puts this to shame. Thought I could save some money but you get what you pay for

good rack, works with mtbs
This bike rack is great. My first time using it was a 6 hour drive to snowshoe WV. Its a little wobbly but it definitely is worth the money. My bike is about 33 lbs and it has a very thick down tube, but the rack still worked with my bike great! I haven't seen any reviews on this rack where it looked like someone had a bike as heavy as mine so hopefully this review helped.

almost impossible to mount instructions terrible
Even though I consider myself adept the instruction were worthless and I had to pay my local bike guy to install this. That said once on it is a damn good carrier. Just do something about the mounting instructions.

Bike would not stay verticle.
While the bike rack looked impressive, its' function was poor. I mounted the bike upright and clamped it down as instructed. About 150 miles into the bike was leaning almost 45 degrees. Put the bike upright again. After a 700 mile trip back home the bike hung on, but it was leaning over 45 degrees and I was lucky it didn't fall off the rack.

Solid product. Good choice if you need a bike rack where you leave both wheels on the bike!
Just installed rack on my car. Assembly was pretty straightforward, with good instructions, but you will want to take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with the parts before you begin. There are several bolts of differing size and configuration, and you need to make certain you don’t confuse which bolt goes where. Also, measure the distance between your crossbars before you attach the “clamps “ to the bike rack, so you can install the front and rear clamps the correct distance away from each other....the instructions don’t tell you to do thatMaterials look solid. Looking forward to using for the first Time tomorrow.

I added some lock nuts for theft deterrence
I purchased a used one from Amazon for a little less than the normally listed price, but, with free shipping. The one I received was basically brand new. I don't think it was even assembled. The box took a beating, but not one scratch, or a bent piece on the inside of the packaging. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble, test the fit on my Toyota Highlander's factory elliptical profile crossbars, and then to finally mount.I added some lock nuts for basic theft deterrence. I didn't want to torque down the lock nuts, as I wanted to avoid over-torquing the mounts. But, having to remove the lock nuts will slow down the would-be thief, which in turn, should make them reconsider the opportunity.Back on the product, I think this roof rack is very well made, and of very good quality components and good assembly. The plastic parts are all well made, and the paint on the metallic pieces are also very good. The wheel straps feel durable and the frame grabbing claws have soft rubber contact surfaces, to avoid damage to the bike's finish. For the price, I think this rack is a great product.
