First of all let me say I am one of those people who always reads reviews but never writes them. Sorry for that but I was so moved by this product I felt the need to share my experience. I read most or at least a lot of the reviews on this product before I ordered it including several other dry bar shampoos. Two months ago I did a mission trip to three countries in Africa and this little item right here would have been most helpful. I do plan to return to Africa Lord willing in the near future and this will be in my bag. I am a 57-year-old woman with below the shoulder length aging, color treated thin hair. I’ve always love the long hair and do my very best to take good care of it so for at least the past 10 years I have used a very costly hair cleanser which I love.....Wen. As I said I do love that hair cleanser and I’m sure I will continue to use that as well but it is very costly and not so easy to travel with at times. So this morning I decided to try out my new bar shampoo in my morning shower. I did have to lather the little bar up a lot to get enough in there to really cleanse all of my hair. Although my hair is quite thin I seem to have a lot of it and the links requires that I lather up a lot. I read others reviews that mentioned squeaky clean and I didn’t know exactly what they meant but I experienced that with this bar. I could hear the squeaking is in my hair so this morning I decided to try out my new bar shampoo in my morning shower. Although my hair is quite fair and I seem to have a lot of it and the links requires that I lather up a lot. Now here’s what I did not like my hair felt dry tangled and heavy which really concerned me while I was still in the shower. Anyone with thin hair nose you have to be super careful and tangles will cause you to quickly pull a lot out you don’t want to !! I continue to lather up quite well and I rinsed very well to make sure I had all of the soap out of my hair. At this point I was not at all happy with the way my hair felt and I kept thinking I wanted to just redo the whole process with my Wen hair cleanser. For those of you who have never used Wen It is a smooth thick essential oil all natural cleanser but does not leather. It does a great job of cleansing your hair and making your hair feel silky and smooth. But as I mentioned it’s very costly and not easy to travel with especially if you are traveling for a couple of weeks as I did on my recent trip to Africa. I preferred to do carry-on luggage only and that’s almost impossible for me to carry enough of the Wen product in that little TSA plastic bag and have room for anything else in that bag. So back to my story I decided to really try this product out on its own so after I rinsed really well I got out and lightly towel dried my hair and was very unhappy with how tangled and dry it felt. I wanted to finish up the process so I could accurately review my results. I have a wide tooth comb that I used to D tangle my hair. I gently comb through my hair until all the tangles were out. My hair still felt a little bit dry but extremely clean. Then I gently blow dried my hair and I was amazed at the results. As my hair started to dry it not only became super soft but it had incredible volume without the use of any products. I do on occasion use products to give my hair a volume but I hate them because they are drying and just build up more residue and already thin hair. When I was done drying I snapped the picture attached to this review and you can see that My hair is smooth and even shiny (if you’re able to enlarge the photo) I can only say that I am absolutely thrilled with the results of this product. My hair also has a very light and very clean feel to it. The first bar are used in the sample package I can always say that I am absolutely thrilled with the results of this product. Give this little bar shampoo a try I think you will love it just as much as I do. I can only say that I was extremely skeptical but as a woman who loves to travel was looking for alternatives in my carry-on luggage

Kudos to my dad who uses these shampoo bars and ordered a pack of them, only to have them shipped to my house on accident, where they then got knocked behind the stairwell and lay forgotten as the return period expired, until a neighbor discovered the package while looking for the bucket of road salt to stop our front driveway from turning into an icy deathtrap.Anyway.Having come into possession of these shampoo bars through that thrilling series of events, I decided to use them, rather than let them languish in my closet until whenever I next saw my dad. Also I was running out of my normal shampoo and I didn't want to go shopping. In any case, I am glad I decided to try this stuff out.Firstly, using these shampoo bars frees up a bunch of space in the bathroom, since a bar is significantly smaller than a shampoo bottle. They're more environmentally friendly as well, since the packaging is like, one (recyclable!) piece of paper vs. a big plastic shampoo bottle that you have to throw away when you're done with it. I also found that bar shampoo is also super convenient for traveling because it's not a liquid and therefore totally fine to bring in your carry-on. The wooden tray that came with the bars is simple, sturdy, and hasn't developed any mold despite the conditions in my humid and somewhat poorly ventilated bathroom. (Weirdly, the shampoo bar is initially too wide to fit in the tray, but that doesn't really matter since after you use it a bit the bar obviously gets narrower.)As for the quality of the shampoo itself, well, I have naturally greasy hair so I wash it every day, and after a month and a half I probably haven't even used up half the bar yet. I only have jaw length hair though, so obviously if your hair is longer you might go through the bar quicker.Also, I occasionally dye my hair with bright semi-permanent dye, and though the packaging said the bar shampoo was color-safe I didn't really believe it for whatever reason. I gave it a shot when my hair was colored anyway and seriously, this stuff keeps my hair bright for as long as the color-safe shampoo I used to use did. Which is pretty great because now I don't need to swap shampoo when my hair is colored vs. not. These shampoo bars have like 5 ingredients, vegetable-based, no parabens or whatever other chemicals people don't like putting in their hair, and it isn't crazy scented either. It just kind of smells fresh, like mild soap or laundry detergent or something.Overall, I'd highly recommend trying this product. Thanks for using autofill in the address field, dad.

I love this product. Gets my hair squeaky clean, lasts forever, and is great value for the money. No additives or chemicals. I only wish they made a conditioner as well!

Having used other shampoo bars in the past and given up this has surpassed my expectations. It lathers really well, I do not have to condition after use. I have thick wavy hair that frizzes easily with ‘normal shampoo’. This has actually brought back my curls and I can simply let my hair air dry. Really pleased.

I am a fan of J.R. Liggett's products, they are 5* as far as I am concerned.My 2* rating is for the seller OTCFORYOU, from whom I purchased this Ez-Pouch + Ultra Balanced Shampoo Bar combo. I was looking forward to receiving the Ultra Balanced bar, particularly as I have sensitive skin. However, I received an Original bar instead - which I cannot use because it contains fragrance. Considering the price combined with the distance it has to travel (I live in the UK) I would have thought OTCFORYOU would get the order right. I contacted OTCFORYOU about this and they promptly replied just to ask for images for their records and with a token apology - no attempt at recompense or any kind of customer service whatsoever. I'd suggest buying these fine products from a seller other than OTCFORYOU.
