Finally the right tripod that addresses what the others do not
I am a full-time pro photographer and have numerous tripods --- Gitzo, Benro, Acebil, etc. All have great features but I was tired of a few key things: one or more lacked being water tight, was sturdy but wouldn't collapse into carry-on or small duffel for travel, and I always had to switch between a ballhead and gimbal head, depending on my photography needs. My Gitzo in particular would always drop the feet and I'd lose them in the field. Replacing them was a pain and not cheap. I also had to remove the center column to do ground-level photography -- something I hated to do.Then a friend turned me on to this tripod and after experimenting with it, I snagged one for myself. Best. Decision. Ever. This tripod is sturdy, yet very lightweight. The Gimbal head works double as a ballhead and you can even push a single button and have it point directly to the ground to take images from a 100% overhead perspective. No switching to the ballhead from the gimbal to do so! It's awesome!I also love that the feet are tightly on and don't seem to wiggle loose; however, they send you a complementary set of feet to have as backup, without having to order them. They also include a set of metal (not plastic) wrenches to tighten your tripod whenever you want to over time, A really thoughtful touch in my opinion. The built-in level and the floating (but lockable) base of the gimbal allow for EASY lleveling adjustments and you don't have to constantly lengthen/shorten one or more legs to get level. This feature alone saves infinite time! You can extend legs all the way out and shoot on the ground without removing a center column. There is a double-locking mechanism so your lens will not come off the mount on accident. It's as if everything a photographer needed was thought of....Until now, my Gitzo and Wimberly Gimbal Head + AcraTech Ball head was my go-to tripod setup (and had been the primary one I used for 10+ years). Not anymore --- this takes the cake and I am beyond thrilled with my investment. This is the tripod I believe will take me through the rest of my photography career. It's a beautiful thing and I am thrilled.
