Highly recommended by 6 yr old!
My 6 year old nephew LOVED this book. He identified with the little 5 year old girl and laughed out loud at her tricks to keep monsters away from her at night. I suspect he'll sleep a little easier tonight!

Great artwork and really cute story.
A child or more is going to put food under their bed to scare away a monster that isn't there and bring bugs into the house and then some kid is going to leave their skateboard in the middle of the hallway and crippled their parents. The author could have found a better way to convey there are no monsters underneath your bed.

One of the best bedtime stories.
While most kids are afraid of the dark, there are kids who enjoy it. Just like Norah, this kid has a keen and vivid imagination. She is not afraid of the dark. What's there to be afraid of anyways. Norah is prepared to face these night creatures. She has been anticipating for these monsters to show up.This reminded me of my younger sibling who is a huge fan of horror movies. She is not afraid of the dark. She always makes it a point to think of a scenario wherein she will encounter monsters, ghouls and the like. This is a great story that will help our little ones face the night. There will be no more sleepless nights. This is an enjoyable and awesome read for the entire family. I will highly recommend this book. An awesome add to anyone's collection.

Good nighttime read
Can't get the little one to bed, this is a cute read to me at night book. There might be some problems with them trying the things she tried in the book, but I'm pretty sure you can convince on something better.

Adorable!
This is the custest book! If your child has bedtime issues. This book addresses some of those issues in a lighthearted, non condescending manner allowing your child to see that they aren't the only ones that have bedtime fears. The illustrations are funny, bright and colorful. This is my first encounter with a Michael Yu book, I (we)look forward to reading more of his work...my 3 year old neice has memorized every single word! That's how much she enjoyed it!!!

It's Great to See an Author Take Not Only the Time to Write a Great Book, But the Time to Illustrate and Format Correctly Too
Unfortunately picture books that are formatted correctly for the Kindle Fire and other devices are so rarely found amongst the masses of self-published authors here on Amazon that you're really surprised when you occasionally come across one. Monsters in My Room displays the colourful pages across the whole screen in landscape (it won't let you read it in portrait) mode. The text is part of the colourful image. This book just looks really good on the screen. Like you are watching some screen shots of a Pixar movie or something. The illustrations are crisp, probably computer generated I guess but fun cartoon style none the less and complement the brilliantly entertaining story about a little girl who Home Alone style has booby trapped her room (in a way most kids could safely do with stuff they'd have at home) to protect her from the monsters she is afraid of so she can get a good night's sleep. For example she's got night lights because vampires are scared of the sun, or since her dog likes to unroll toilet paper, she has him sleep at her feet as he'll take care of any mummy's that come to visit.I've read a few of this author's other books and this is by the far the best of them.

Lots of Fun!
This is a cute story with a fun little twist at the end. The story isn't deep or profound (as some children's books are), but it is fun and cute. Some of the rhyme is excellent, and some of it is just okay (with the metre slipping up at some points). All in all, it's a fun little read. It's definitely worth the read if you're looking for a bit of fun, cute, light entertainment. Plus the pictures are cute and colourful, as you can see from the cover.

Cute and Encouraging Story
This is another well illustrated book from Michael Yu. I've gotten several of his books and the stories really speak to my kids and I enjoy the bright and humorous pictures. This book is kind of a how to for overcoming your fear of the dark. Well done in that it is all from the child's perspective. Even I got a chuckle over some of Norah's methods for overcoming some of the things she thinks she sees in the night.
