USB-LED-1 RGB LED Controller

This thing controls 5 meters of my LED strips perfectly! There was a slight hum heard in my audio from the dimming of the LED's but that was corrected by using the correct shielded audio cable. It really adds that WOW effect to the setup in my car. I have all my components lifted from the bottom about an inch with LED strips under them. I leave it at one color until somebody says it looks "OK" Then I show them what this unit really does! The only problem I had with it was keeping the USB cable connected as it is recessed a bit inside the housing. Oddly enough, this was corrected by using the cable that came with the unit. I assumed any mini usb would work, but the one that came with it is a bit longer. I have nothing negative at all to say about this.

Wish I had a chance to actually test this out, but I was stymied simply by attempting to tighten down the screws in the two terminal blocks... they were seized open, and no amount of hemming & hawing with a highly-leveraged (via pliers) mini screwdriver could budge 5 out of the 6 terminals. Ended up returning & re-ordering item in the hopes that the next one doesn't have defective terminal blocks.EDIT 10/4/2013: Second unit arrived, no issues with the terminal block. Works great... software is pretty slick, and can't wait to play with the DLLs and get this working on the command line (for example--an Outlook rule would flash the lights if an Urgent message comes in). Very happy with the purchase :-)

I picked this up to drive a strip of RGB LEDS (not individually addressable) for my cube at work. I was pleasantly surprised to see the controller came with code and program examples. I was able to whip up a quick system tray app in a few minutes and tied it into our continuous build server (CruiseControl.Net). Everyone at work loves my color-changing cube, and when someone "breaks the build", I'm the first to know. Great hardware!!!

Awesome device! I've been looking for a computer controlled LED controller, and this even fits inside the chassis without trouble. Now I don't have to open my case or have controllers dangling outside the case to change my case colors.
