Nice size, good sound, great screen, can also play music

I use this DVD player for watching DVDs, and videos from the internet. USBs play very well and so do the DVDs. The sound is amazing for a small machine and the picture quality is better than on my desktop PC. It is fairly heavy but it is a 19 inch machine and the free carry case is, therefore, most useful. The battery indicator is not visible as it is underneath and you have to tip the machine up to see it, Overall, this is the best portable DVD player I have owned - I have had three before - and I would definitely recommend it if you want a larger screen and good quality build and excellent sound and picture. I was most impressed by the customer service, especially Olivia who was most helpful when my original order did not arrive. I would definitely buy from them again.

I bought this player so that my wife and I can watch our favourite shows when on holiday. Traditionally, I copy our DVD's to a media player that connects to the prevailing TV in hotel rooms and ship cabins using an HDMI lead. However, many of the TV's are now configured only to work on the house systems and can't be overridden. So a portable player is the answer, and we can watch this anywhere, even in the Amtrak sleeper we're taking at Christmas.Understandably, the screen size and playback quality can't compete with our home TV's, but as a compromise for on the move it's fine.Pro's: Bright screen, good battery life, plays DVD's correctly and reliably, full function remote, good portability.Con's: Poor sound, won't correctly play DVD's copied to a high-end SD card, can't interpret DVD's copied to a portable hard drive that's plugged into the USB socket. Plenty of file formats are included but I've only been able to play back from physical DVD's.My solution will be to take the DVD's I want to watch, and that's no imposition. Plus I'll take a small Bluetooth speaker connected to the player via 3.5 jack audio cable. I've also trialled feeding AV into my TV from the player using the supplied cable and it's fine. So on holiday we can still watch on an available TV. I've given 4 stars because the player suits my needs and not much else.

It all works very well. When I first tried it, I could not get my firestick to work with it at first. I got a lovely picture, but no sound. I emailed the company, and they told me to change the audio output on the firestick. It all works properly now, and I am very pleased with it.

delivery in good time and products appear value for money

I bought this portable product as I wanted to use it whilst sitting outdoors in my summer house, it has a decent battery life to be able to watch a couple of film length DVD's, it looks sleek and screen size is perfect. I am VERY hard of hearing and found the sound (when outdoors ) wasn't loud enough for my hearing, however when asking advise from the seller with regards to compatable headphones I did get a very speedy response and now have great headphones that work perfectly when using the player outdoors.Would recommend this product to friends and family.

This seemed a well enough made product with a neat remote and decent length mains cable. Worked immediately on unboxing and inserting disk. Disc whir and chatter not too obtrusive and to be expected.BUT, and its a very big BUT. The sound was completely ruined by a continuous high pitched whine. This could be heard clearly over any speech and most background music on every DVD - all commercial discs which work perfectly in another portable player. The whine stopped if the sound was muted!The Dolby Digital Sound menu did not respond to changes - it was set on an option which sort of matched the mix-mono option but would not respond if any other option including Stereo, L-mono or R-mono were selected.Altering the Dynamic mode did nothingI am not sure why the refund time for this product is 14 days?.

The picture quality is good and the unit is easy to operate. However there are one or two niggles with it. There is a constant background very low volume buzzing noise when playing DVD's. The closure lid catch for the disc drive is flimsy and looks like it could break very easily.
