Small, Inexpensive and Powerful Computer
I recently received the Minix NEO Z83-4 Plus PC and have found this little guy be be a great mini computer for most home office, casual gaming, and basic business tasks. The Minix NEO Z83-4 Plus PC is both small and lightweight. As an long-time Apple customer I place this Minix NEO PC in the category of a Mac Mini (full desktop OS), but closer to the size of an Apple TV.In terms of thermal stats, the Minix NEO PC never runs hot. The Minix NEO PC is dead silent. Very quiet and low key. No fans!Lots of ports and functionality here. The only I/O I might miss is USB-C (but cant think of a immediate need for it as all my perhiperals are mostly USB-A).The Minix NEO PC comes in nice packaging. Admiral attention to detail in terms of overall package fit and finish. The Wi-fi antenna is adjustable - similar to router access/point and is optional/removable. I'm an Ethernet guy but Wi-fi worked great for me.Multiple power adapters are included for USA, UK, Europe (which is a nice touch). As for displays, I connect the Minix NEO Z83-4 Plus PC to (2) monitors - a portable 1080P 15" display and a mid-tier 32" LG QHD 2560x1440 display. The biggest surprise for me: Windows 10 Pro is included! This was great for me (IT sysadmin who relies on protocols/services such as Active Directory, Remote Desktop etc). I'm looking forward to running Ubuntu or other flavor of Linux on in the days to come. The Minix NEO PC makes a great headless PC for IT digital signage kiosks, QA testing, or a lightweight remote access terminal on a server rack/network closet or even under a desk.I plan on buying a few of these for both home and work. While not an optimal solution for a hardcore gamer (but suitable for many popular casual games), the Minix NEO Z83-4 Plus PC is a versatile powerful little desktop for most home and office needs.

Great Media Streaming PC!
I had a 15 in laptop in my living room TV stand that I used to stream from my media server upstairs. I purchased the MINIX to replace the laptop because it has a smaller footprint and produces less heat (I also wanted to give the laptop to my teenager) Worked out perfectly! For the purpose I'm using it for, I did not need I high amount of storage...I needed Windows 10, HDMI, and Wireless capability. If you need storage, this is not the machine for you. I believe it is only good for streaming and internet surfing. Paired with blue tooth mouse and keyboard, this is perfect for my living room entertainment setup.Things I've used it for:-wireless stream movies from media server to projector.-wireless stream videos from the internet (Youtube, ect..) to a projector.

Nice little micro computer - for a specific use case
This review is for the MINIX NEW Z83-4 Plus Intel Fanless Mini PC w/ Win10Pro, 4GB/64GB eMMCI’ve been using this little device for a couple of weeks with no issues. It certainly seems well built, no complaints about the quality. My device did not have any viruses or other malware installed, so no complains there. This device runs slimmed down version of Windows 10 Pro. This OS choice might be a positive depending on your needs, but the bad news is you are stuck with periodic forced Windows updates. They happen frequently, and take forever to install. In fact, the first 2 days I had this device were spent waiting for the many Windows updates needed to get it up to the current release level. The frequency and duration of updates might effect your use case, so it needs to be considered.Overall this is a nice little computer, and can handle basic functions such as web browsing, email, light text editing. There listing has some use-case suggestions, some of which I agree with, others not so much. It can certainly be used for Digital Signage, POS (depends on your POS software and usage), and Thin Client (though with Windows 10 Pro, this client isn’t very thin). Understand that there is a limit on how many browser pages you can reasonably have open simultaneously. The processor is low power and the eMMC memory slow. It will work, but point performance will degrade quickly if you have more than a couple of things open at once.It comes with a VESA mount that attaches to the back of any VESA complaint monitor, a plus in tight spaces.Windows 10 Pro takes up over half of the 57GB storage, my system has only 27GB free. You can add a MicroSD card to provide additional storage for files. I had no problem using a 64GB uSDXC card, and did not have anything larger to test on this device. I don’t think there is a way to increase memory or storage beyond this, but I did not take the device apart to find out. HDMI works fine up to 4K and also supports Full HD (1080P) and UQHD (3440x1440) DisplayPort supports 1080P, but not UQHD. I was unable to test 4K as I don’t have a 4K display with a DisplayPort input. As a media device the news is mixed. Though wifi works great, I did my tests with a wired ethernet connection. I tested with a solid 1GB fiber internet connection. I can speediest a Chromebook on this connection and get 850 Mbps upload and download speeds. With the MINIX I get about 250 Mbps. Unless I have a bad unit, the CPU just can’t process the network traffic beyond this.Still, 250 Mbps is more than adequate to stream video. Testing on a 4K television, my experience was not so good. Streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, YouTube TV, Amazon, all were able to stream movies and videos, though there were noticeable dropped frames, even at 1080P. But the real problem is dealing with the menus. Scrolling through the menus is slow, with screen repaints depending on what images are in the browser. This made using any of these apps frustrating, so I can’t recommend this for streaming internet video. But streaming from a local SD card was better. I tested AVI, MK5, files at standard definition and video and audio were excellent! A 1080P MP4 with AAC audio did not do so well. Video was choppy and audio track lost sync with the video, so experience was unacceptable. 2160P video (as MKV) was choppy, and audio track had trouble staying in sync with video. I tested both 1080P and 2160P on the internal eMMC as well, performance was no better. Given the storage limitations I think it’s best to go with SD video anyway, but it’s a compromise on getting better resolution and accepting some performance loss. There is no remote control for this device (at least not included), so you’ll need a keyboard and mouse to manage all of the controls. This may be fine for some, but I struggled.I did some light gaming from items in the Microsoft App Store. Games such as Solitaire are perfectly fine. I would not recommend using this to run even low res graphics applications. To summarize, this device is designed go support a highly focused market Shop floor or dock thin client or POS solutions would be great. Digital signage would be perfect. If you are interested in a personal productivity or gaming device look elsewhere.

Reliable Remote Terminal
I use this as a low cost terminal to help me gain access to customer sites. It does this perfectly, and is great for gathering SNMP info on other network devices. Would highly recommend.

Preloaded with Rootkit Virus
1 Star because there was Malware found on both units that I ordered. Not sure what the companies intentions are with a preloaded Windows 10 Pro version with a Trojan installed and the Windows Defender scanning engine not being installed. Luckily I work in IT and formatted both systems and removed it along with the Root-kit on the drive.

Very Laggy
Computer works fine. But it is very laggy. Not even able to go from full screen to regular screen on youtube without stopping the video for a second or more. The computer is connected to a 5Ghz Wireless network with very strong signal since it is very close to the AP.If cannot play youtube videos smoothly, forget about running any game. Not even Wormate.io.I will not recommend to buy this computer any kind of games. Only if you will run some not very demanding applications.

Good Bang For Your Buck
I play an old MMO that I've enjoyed for years and this machine handles it with ease. I've also turned this into my primary do all PC AND even toted it on a trip over the holidays. Not quite a PC but, for the money, does what I needed it to do.
