Inexpensive but mighty- a great buy!
Did not want to write a review after using this product for a few days or weeks; but after months of daily use. So here is my review from using it over a long long time! Pros: this is an excellent camera and I have primarily used this as a dash-cam. Just remember to take out the battery and get a car charger so no hassles of charging the battery in the camera anymore, and it is not recommended as the continued charging will heat the battery and can cause it bulge/get damaged. The image is very stable, even under low light conditions. The wide angle lens captures all areas of interest without any flares at the corners, great clarity! The camera comes with a variety of additional items which will allow you to use the camera is numerous ways. I would recommend that you buy a stronger windshield mount of planning to use the camera as a dashcam. Good battery life, clarity in voice recording as well! Cons: none to be honest! Maybe the instructions can be written a bit better. For example if you keep the camera inside the clear-plastic-case, it will not pickup any voice- not mentioned anywhere! So if you want audio don’t use the case. Be careful with the charging cable so not to damage the port for charging and don’t overcharge the battery! Overall, this is a great device if you are not looking to invest loads of money for a high end like GoPro. Haven’t used it under water, but the case is damn airtight so would assume it will hold well. Enjoy this inexpensive but great device!

Nice little action cam at a great price!
I am completely new to using action cams but when I saw this on a lightning deal I had to grab it for the price. First off the COOAU camera comes with A LOT of accessories including a remote that can be strapped on to your wrist for taking photos and video on top of being able to use the smart phone LiveDV app. As for me I intend to use this for the occasional dashcam as well as for family outings and for my son to use on his motorcycle. Connecting the camera to the smart phone app was easy as pie and literally I was up and running in just a few minutes. The pictures and videos it takes are crisp and at a quality expected for the price point and I also like how it has a slow motion mode. Note that for slow-mo I would use the 720p @120 fps setting. The battery life is quite nice and the fact it comes with a spare battery is a huge plus. The SD card I used was a class 10 Samsung 64gb card. All in all it’s a great little action cam which is super easy to use at an awesome price point.

Decent...
I purchased this action camera for use on vacation. I didn't have a bunch of time to test it before we took the camera setup with us. Thankfully, the camera did the kind of job you would expect at this price point. Make no mistake, this camera is not as good as the "big boys", but it is not a bad alternative if you aren't willing to invest in a much more expensive unit - yet. The remote works most of the time, the waterproof case is truly waterproof and the camera survived a flight off the top of our rental car at 60MPH (while in the acrylic case), so it proved to be somewhat rugged. Pros: Some handy accessories came with the camera, they were of an acceptable quality. Two Li-ion batteries were included, both had to be fully charged upon arrival. They are charged within the camera itself. Image quality acceptable for the price point. More rugged than the price point may indicate. Cons: Be realistic, this isn't the super high image quality unit you might be looking for. The battery life might improve with charging cycles, but is a bit shorter than we expected. Remote function can seemingly turn itself off in the camera settings, keep an eye on it. Bottomline, if you aren't exploiting others by monetizing an online entertainment channel or making a big screen movie, this camera will help you keep your memories somewhat fresh. If you want tp pretend you're a filmmaker, and aren't satisfied with "okay" quality footage, consider stepping up your game some. We're glad be bought this one, and it was a good value overall.

Good, inexpensive, substitute for a GoPro.
Bought this along with the “ SMALLRIG Cool Ballhead Arm Super Clamp Mount Multi-Function Double Ball Adapter with Bottom Clamp” https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to take on a once-in-a-lifetime fishing trip to Alaska. Worked fantastic. The lens has a wider view than I expected, more like a security camera. The resolution is decent, but not on the par of a nice iPhone. It is nice and compact, and comes with a variety of mounting types to allow for multiple uses. I used the waterproof box which worked very well. The only downside of the box is that the sound is GREATLY reduced, which is to be expected since it’s in a box... The batteries last a nice long time, which is nice, and it comes with 2. Much longer than my “point and click” digital camera. It would have been nice to have an external battery charger rather than needing to plug a USB cable into the camera to charge. However, again the batteries last a long time. I didn’t run out, and I just charged them again in the evening. I didn’t see this in the manual (although I admit to not reading the manual word-for-word), but when in continuous recording mode the recordings are automatically clipped into 15 minute segments. My brother had a GoPro, and his were limited to 8 minute segments. All in all, a good inexpensive substitute for a GoPro.

Camera didn't work for me... until they sent a replacement
I'd love to be able to rate this camera, but it's never worked for me. Once I received it, I started charging it right away. I was eager to use it, but neither battery (it came with two) would hold a charge. The camera would only turn on if plugged directly into a power source (the wall) and that does me no good. As soon as I disconnected the power cord, the camera would go black. The camera looked good and felt like a quality product. I would have been happy with it, if it worked. The camera came with lots of extras, but those are of no use if the camera doesn't work. Returning the camera right away. I don't want to keep ordering these low cost cameras and having to return them, so I think I'm just gonna suck it up and going to go buy a GoPro. UPDATE: I had originally rated the camera 2 stars for the quality and feel of the camera. I'll explain what happened in a minute, but the fact that the company contacted me to try to make it right felt like good customer service, so I originally rated them 2 stars. The reason I removed a star, is because the company contacted me after my review and promised to send me a replacement camera. They contacted me no less than 5-6 times by email, asking me to send them my address and contact information so they could send me another camera directly. Once I finally provided an address, they stopped emailing me and I've had no contact since then. Over a month later, I still have no camera and nothing to review. I don't really care, since I've returned the original camera, but why promise to send me something if you aren't really going to do it?? That only made the situation worse if you ask me. If I ever thought about giving them another chance to see if the first camera was a fluke, this just solidified my resolve to never buy a product from this company again. UPDATE #2: I finally received a second camera and it worked for me. It wasn't great, the batteries last about 20 minutes on 4k, and per the instructions in order to use the image stabilization, the settings have to be on 4k. The view screen is also useless, you can barely see the picture on it. I downloaded the app and it works when it wants to.. I don't think the company meant to freak me out, but they are relentless with asking me to change my review. Like another reviewer said, they totally phished for more personal info. I did finally provide an address, but that was it. So, I thought about changing my review, but I don't think it would be fair to someone just like me who was looking for a decently priced product that actually works. As a matter of fact, I think it would be unfair to see all the 5 star reviews and know that they're probably not all true. As it is, I looked at all the other reviews and thought that the people who gave poor reviews were just crying sour grapes. I mean 500 other people couldn't be wrong... right? So I bought the camera anyway, and even though I have a camera that works now.. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't. Sorry CooAU company, I can't give you 5 stars. But I did split the difference and upped my score to 3. (I'd give 2.5 if I could)

Very good quality video in 1080p and nice framrate in 4k for such an affordable camera..
I wanted a sport camera for reviews and to mount to the night vision mount an my SWAT helmet at the police department for training and real life call outside but I did not want to pay 300 dollars for a GoPro for the following: It's a big expense and stuff tends to get broken in that kind of environment. So I wanted an affordable camera that if it did get smashed would not cause to much heartache. So after reviews and YouTube videos I decided on this one. I was very pleased with the quality and video. Had training the same day and ran it ragged! The case is great and had taken some abuse and is still looking good and protected the camera. True to the pamphlet it got wet and rained on but was still working like a champ! I have used other cameras and recorders so set up and use seemed very simple to me. The accessory pack is nice too along with the mike. The only thing I would have liked better is a hard case instead of a drawstring bag but that can be easily purchased. I am very happy with this little camera and surprised but the quality. Oh and the wrist band controller is a great touch!

Awesome action camera/dash cam
I must have saved 10 different cameras on Amazon before settling on this one. The camera spec's, ability to have external mic, 4k at 30fps, and a dash cam mode sealed the deal. Camera boots up fast, and battery life seems to be about 60min on 4k and closer to 90min on 1080p. It does get a little hot when filming in 4k, but from what I've read that's pretty standard for them all. This is my experience after about a week of playing around with it. Below are pro's and cons: Pro's: - Image stabilization works surprisingly well. - 4k at 30fps. - Dash cam mode. - Two batteries. - External mic. - Menu's are easy to navigate for not being touch screen. - App was very easy to link to the camera, however the features which you can control from it are limited. Con's: - No charger for the batteries other than in the camera, perfectly fine if using as a dash cam, but can be a pain if using as a action camera. Separate chargers are about $15 on amazon. This seems to be a thing with all the similarly priced action cameras so I am not taking any stars off. - Lack of touch screen, but it is pretty simple once you get the hang of it... - No suction cup included in the accessories. Would buy again though, for about $55 its well with the money and much cheaper than alternatives.

COOAU SPC06 Action Camera is an Outstanding Value for the Entry Level User!
This is my first product review. Amazon delivered the item on time, packaged well. Unboxing was easy. The camera and all accessories were packaged well, with not even a scratch or smudge on the camera or camera case. (My GoPro Hero 8 Black came with a few scratches). The User manual is EXCELLENT, well written with clear, easy to read fonts. The two spare batteries charged up in a reasonable time. The remote control came with batteries installed, and, checked with a quality multimeter read 3.349v. You will need a PHOO size mini Phillips screwdriver to open the case and access the battery. The camera came with a sealed spare battery. The remote control functioned as designed. The clear waterproof case has large metal buttons that have a firm positive feel, are not "spongy" and makes selecting different modes quite easily. I downloaded the Live DV app from the Apple App store with no problem, and the app worked flawlessly for me on my IPhone 6S. It is user friendly and provides easy to understand functions. Photography: Like all cameras, users must learn how to make adjustments to suit the activity, lighting conditions, etc. I installed a Lexar 633X 64Gb micro SD card, and got wonderful still images! As far as action video, I still have a bit of a learning curve as far as configuring settings for the types of activities I would use the camera. Right out of the box, the default stings were 4K 30 which gave excellent still image, and good video as long as I maintained a good stabilization. As you may see from the short video I shot, I quickly learned that a stabilization bar would be the next accessory I will get. Finally, I find the COOAU- SPC06 Action Camera to be a great buy at the price point. I highly recommend the camera as an entry level action camera at a very reasonable price. I will be giving this camera to my Grandson to get him started with action photography.
