For the price, it's definitely a bargain. I don't know about ruggedness or reilability (yet).
For the price, this is a wonderful device (so far). The manual is next to impossible to read, however, and pretty much useless, other than for the guided tour of features. The one useful part was a (tiny) mention that to turn on the hot air (without also turning on the soldering iron), you have to hold the temperature set button until it beeps and goes into manual mode (otherwise, it's in Auto, and won't come on without the soldering iron). After that, it worked as expected. It seems that there are some other accessories (like a part-sucker that goes on the smoke vacuum). I have no clue where to buy them, but I would love a part-sucker. Also, you don't have to keep the hot air gun on the left side (my workstation made it quite uncomfortable to have the air on the left) - during assembly, you can move the holder to the right, and it works quite well. The air and soldering iron both have sleep modes (the display shows SLP), with the iron's temperature dropping to 200C while idling. When you pick it up, it heats rapidly (within 5 seconds or so) to operating temp (for me, about 375C). The smoke sucker works fine, and while I love the smell of burning resin, it's nice to be able to see the work clearly, without a miasma of smoke right down on small components. Tips for the iron are inexpensive and plentiful here on Amazon, the iron works with all of the silver (SnCuAg[2% and 3%]) solders I've tried, the hot air works well with silver solder paste, the holder holds the iron nicely, the fan is quiet, and while the color isn't the ominous black I've come to expect, the happy blue and yellow kind of grew on me after a while.I've been told there's a magnetic switch in the holder for the air wand, but I have no idea what it does.ABSOLUTELY NOTE: you must remove the screw in the center of the bottom of the device. If you don't, you can't use the blower or suction, and for all I know, it'll mess up the blower. You have been warned.

Was dead on arrival.
Plugged it in and nothing. There were no signs of life. So I contemplated sending it back and waiting the weeks it'd take to get a replacement or refund. Or just fixing it myself. I went with the latter and it was an easy fix, just a weak solder joint at where the main plug's wires went into the circuit board. Took the board out and looked at it under a microscope and saw little solder balls everywhere, so before plugging it back in, cleaned it with alcohol. Put all back together and it's worked great since. The smoke "absorber" doesn't absorb the smoke, just reroutes it out the hot air gun, so I put another filter on the hot air gun nozzle and now it does. The pump is a bit loud but not bad. Good little machine, gets hot quick, and have left the machine on forgetting to switch the switch in the back off and haven't had any problems.

This One's a Gamble
Upon receipt, I was not impressed. The manual is clearly Chinese to English, and very poorly done. There is no drawing on how to assemble the loose parts of the soldering iron, but you can figure it out from the pictures on Amazon. Even the box has no picture of the assembled unit. There is a warranty page on the back of the manual, but no clue as to where to send it or how to use it. There were several small mars or scratches on the blue case. The paint job on the case looked worn or just poor. Under the readout's protective plastic film (which looks like it's been removed previously), the readout window was marred. Again ... a used unit? However, a little Plast-X plastic repair polish took care of those. The air pump shipping screw underneath the case has red adhesive to keep it secure. The adhesive was broken and the screw was loose, allowing the pump inside to move around during shipping. I peered inside to check for damage. Although everything appeared to be okay, there are two long zip ties around the air pump. One had broken apart. I'm not even sure why those are needed. I fastened a new one around the pump just because. Some of the other small case screws appear to have dented in the thin case metal. Cheap, or bad quality control at the manufacturer. One of the screws holding the iron's ceramic base to the metal iron holder was loose. I attempted to tighten it. It appeared to be stripped. When I removed it, I found that the screw was actually a rivet ... there were never any threads on it. Someone just pushed it into the threaded hole. It makes me uneasy about the rest of the quality control. I know for the price I can't expect Hakko quality.UPDATE: After using it for a total of three separate times in the last two days for a total of about 30 minutes, now some of the display segments are blinking on and off, or or very dim to missing. It's going back and I won't buy this brand again. I should have stuck with Hakko.

Good product. Mine came with a tip installed on the iron. Both the air gun and iron heat up within 2 minutes to peak temp. You can set it from 212f to 800f. It will climb to 800f in about 45 seconds. The vacuum is also nice to have. Be careful with the iron, it break easily. I dropped it on the floor and mine broke. Other than that it is a good setup. I suspect that this is the same exact thing as all the rest, this one just doesn't have the vendor marks on it, nor does it have very good quality control, but for a hobbies it works great!

Fume free fun.
Love the way it works, and cools off when not being used. Plastic welding with this unit is a breeze. Fumes not right up in your face and I actually had to dial back the temp. Which is great for the flexibility. The only thing is, that I didn't get the soldering tips, at the same time. But there is such a great availability, and selection out there. No problem.
