Adequate for the task
Ok, I've used this tripod mount a few times now inside the cab of my truck and on my motorcycle. There is no place on my truck dash that is smooth enough for the suction required, so I had to mount it to the inside of the rear window, facing the camera towards the front. This works ok, but it was difficult to find just the right place where the rear view mirror wasn't in the middle of the view. I was not able to mount it to the inside of the windshield, because the arm is too short for my Drift Innovation Camcorder, which is a long one. It should be fine for a smaller/shorter camera like a compact digital camera using video mode. I wish the arm was about an inch longer and I wouldn't have had any problems. On my motorcycle, I had no problems mounting it in multiple places due to the smoothness of the gas tank, body work, etc., but once again, another inch of length on the arm would have allowed me to mount it on top of my gas tank looking through my bolt-on windscreen. As is, it was too short for that. All in all it is well built and easy to adjust.

About what You'd expect for the Price.
Pro: Suction cup grips window very well, in fact I don't recommend trying it on the dash unless it is solid plastic because it could damage a vinyl covered dash trying to remove it.Cons:On a very hot day the air in the suction cup can expand enough to cause it to release it's hold. This happened only once in Mid July while I was shopping and the camera wasn't attached at the time so I don't think it would happen while driving. The small knurled wheel and rubber washer which hold the camera steady comes loose and the camera swivels very easily. It is very hard to tighten it sufficiently to prevent movement once the camera is attached. My Camera ,a Canon SX 500, is very light and I wouldn't recommend trying to use this with a camera that weighs more than 2 lbs. The Camera must be mounted upside down on standard windshield. I had hoped it would allow the camera to stay upright.

Works great for smaller camcorders
This mount is well worth the price. Very well built and sturdy, it is great for light-weight cameras and camcorders. But before you purchase consider the following:1. Lock your camera down and don't try to use it as a pan head on a tripod. It will loosen up and you will be pointing at the ground, having to readjust and tighten the two locking nuts. If you are driving at the time -- not good.2. If you intend to mount the camera to your dash and your dash is covered with a thin textured plastic, you will have to use a glue-down disk so the suction cup will stick and hold. If the dash material is thin, the camera will wobble and vibrate.3. If you intend to mount from your windshield, check your clearances. You may have to mount the camera upside-down. So make sure you can flip your videos and pics before publishing.

Depends on Camera
I bought this mount to attach to my windshield because I already have my phone mounted on my dash using one of those adhesive suction disks. I didn't want to stick a second disc on my dash. The quality of the product is pretty good. I have bought a couple of other similar mounts on eBay and they were very poorly made. This one is much better. The range of orientations is also a plus.I thought that the extended arm on this would be long enough for my kodak playsport camera, but the camera is too long by about 1" and it ends up being obstructed by the windshield causing it to be at an angle, which of course is no use. This mount should work well for a standard type (horizontal) digital camera and I would recommend it for those types of cameras, but not for the vertically oriented designs like the Playsport.

Ok for glass, if you don't mind upside-down camera
This mount works fine if you don't mind your camera being hung upside down from the windshield. The suction cup works great on glass, but won't stick to my dash. The arm is very short, overall the mount is much smaller than it appears in the picture. I was looking for a mount I could use on the windshield that would mount my camera the right way up, but this isn't it. This would be fine if it sticks to your dash or if you had one of those weighted bases that sit on your dash for this to stick to. But this won't work for me, so I'll be sending it back and looking for another one.

Working Flawlessly So Far
I've only had this thing for a couple of days sand I've run it through its paces a bit and it has excelled on each test. I am using it on my Yamaha V Star 1100 to mount a Drift HD in various places. I have used it on a couple short runs in town on the fork right behind my windshield and it worked great. Today I stuck it hanging off the left side of my tank with nothing blocking the wind and took it down the interstate for a 1 hour drive at speeds up to around 80. Even with wind gusts, passing other vehicles, and all the vibrations from the engine and the crappy roads it held on tight and didn't leave a mark when I pulled it off. I will try to put to gather some footage and show how it handled it in a video.

Nice suction cup, works well with my camera
This suction cup works pretty well with my camera. I bought it to mount my camera on the inside of my windshield and it works very well. With a heavier camera it might not work as well - I can move the clamps (with some difficulty) after they've been tightened down. This is nice for me, because it means I can make small adjustments with my camera without having to loosen, then position, then re-tighten the screws.

Good setup for my small Kodak video camera
Good setup for my small Kodak video camera. When mounted to the windshield of a moving vehicle, the vibration in the car is beyond what the camera's image stabilization can suppress and the videos appear a bit jerky.Thumb screws adjust nice and tight to keep the camera in place, even during rough off-road terrain.
