How long will it last

its a big package, with sticks, not ground powder. Expiry is 1 year. I received fresh packaged item, see my comment. Take few sticks, and seal rest in zipper bag, away from humidity / heat. Grind small quantity as need. Cinnamon has natural oils which evaporate if expose to air, will lose smell over time. Whole stick will not. whole less potent, ground more strong. My old mommy eating everyday for manage diabetes. Hope this helps :-)

What is the coumarin count?

Coumarin is a natural flavouring and fragrant substance contained in plants. Companies r making it artificially also. It is contained in varities of cinnamon. So generally 1% is contained on cassia cinnamon which could be harmful. True n good quality cinnamon is very expensive and good and contains about only traces if coumarine i.e. 0.04-0.05 which is not harmful. So that is coumarine count. (its presence in cinnamon in percentage)

How to distinguish cinnamon and cassia

They smell different. Cassia smells strong while cinnamon smells mild and sweeter. Looks wise cassia will look thicker and won't have more than one or two layers in the roll, while cinnamon is thinner and there would be more than 5 layers.
