Gameplay itself feels great—the pieces are just the right weight and size (around 1.125″), and there’s a satisfying click when you make a capture. It’s perfect for casual play or teaching kids how to play without a bulky board. If you’re looking for a charming, compact checkers set that balances quality and convenience, this one hits the mark.

I bought these so we could get some dual use out of my son's new chess board. I was looking for something with a nice weight and finish that matched his existing chess set and these work great. Quality and feel are excellent, no splinters or poor notching in the cut of the pieces. They do come with the pictured bag, which works just fine for storage or transport in the car. Good purchase overall!

For the purpose for which I purchased these, playing checkers with my 5 year old, they work well. If you are looking for great craftsmanship where all are the same, then look elsewhere. We have some that are more oval and stick together when you stack them. Some are more shallow and there are a few little chunks out of some of the checkers. All in all, however, my son does not notice and I only really notice when I need something to complain about when I am getting beat by my 5 year old.

This is a hard to find item. The size is exactly what I needed.

Great value. I love that its real wood. Pieces do stack on top of each other when playing checkers.

My husband made checker boards for our 2 grandson and they were so excited over the beautiful craftsmanship of their boards and how will the playing pieces went with them. The wood checkers were made so will even had felt under neath the bottom of each piece. I hardly paid anything for them and yet they looked expensive.so happy I bought them.

These were not the advertised size. Most of the checkers measure 1 inch to a hair over while one or two come closer to 1.25 but still don’t make it there. My set came with dried glue present on the checkers. Two of them were stacked together and I had to pry them apart because of the glue. Some are more oval than round. At least one piece looks like it was chewed on. The brown doesn’t do any favors in hiding defects; the natural needed a closer look in order to notice a lack of quality. It did come with two extra pieces. I will most likely return these. I can not find it in me to really recommend them unless you are looking for small rustic pieces and you don’t mind removing the bits of glue. I docked 1 star for not being the advertised size and another star for general lack of quality control.

These are nice wooden checkers for the most part. The bottoms have that felt adhesive paper stuff that inexpensive chess pieces have. It is a nice touch. However, these are bit too small for a full size 2¼” (57cm) chess board. Even so, they don’t scratch it with that pseudo felt on them. However, they are perfect with my 1¾” vinyl chess board. For the most part they seem to stack rather nicely. I almost gave these four stars because one dark checker did not come with a ridge for stacking. It was cut off. You can see the included pictures. Anyway, that’s OK b/c this set came with thirteen checkers! Why? I’m not sure. If your opponent allows you to obtain a king with out any of your checkers captured then opponent is inept. The felt bag is ok but doesn’t close as tight as a Cordura bag would.
