Comprehensive and Beautiful
I'm not a poetry student. Honestly I don't know anything about poetry. But one doesn't need to know anything about painting to see the brilliance of a Pollock. The same is true for the poetry of Robert Frost. I bought this book because Library of America's editions are always perfect, and I wanted to see what all the fuss with Robert Frost was about (I mean, three Pulitzer prizes? Really?). Although I have not read this cover to cover, the portions I have read are poetic masterpieces. And that is clear even to me—the layman. Frost has a way with words that I have not seen anywhere else. None of his rhymes seem stretched, and all of his words fit together so seamlessly, it almost seems obvious. Robert Frost is definitely one of the greats, and this edition of his work is comprehensive and beautiful.

A handsome volume. Perfect for a gift.
I gave this as a gift. This is a very nice edition of Frost's work in a handsome presentation with a ribbon to mark one's progress. I highly recommend.

Worth re-reading, again and again
I am so blessed to have come across Robert Frost! A friend of mine talked to me about Frost, and I will admit (with a hint of embarrassment) that I did now know him. I read half of this gorgeous volume already, and I found so many insights into so many topics. So many verses are worth re-reading ... Frost is an American poet of the XX century who was included in Harold Bloom's Western canon, so this gives you an idea of his quality. Library of America books are extremely very well put together. Highly recommended!

Frost rehabilitated
Jay Parini's ROBERT FROST: A LIFE, 1999, may rehabilitate the view of Frost as terrible person, presented in Lawrence Thompson's earlier biography. See Parini, pp.452 ff. Some reviews may tend to discourage reading Frost, because of Thompson's jaundiced portrait. This wonderful, copious collection of Frost contains many of his best poems, which do not show up in popular anthologies. And his prose is filled with wit and wisdom you might not suspect. A great contribution to our Art and our humanity.

who has just published a new book about Frost as the Love Poet. It was wonderful to get into many ...
Bought for a Frost class taught by Frost's granddaughter, Dr. Lesley Francis, who has just published a new book about Frost as the Love Poet. It was wonderful to get into many of the Frost poems I was a stranger to before the course and even nicer to have such a compendium of his oeuvre w/ some of his best known prose pieces.

Authoritative text, complete and nicely printed, without annotation.
There are several good editions of Frost's works available: This Library of America edition is a fine choice, being complete, reliable and nicely edited and printed. As with other Library of America editions, it does not include annotations or critical analysis, but rather presents an authoritative text of the writer's work.

A fine edition
This review is for the Library of America (Loa #81) hardback edition of 'Robert Frost: Collected Poems, Prose & Plays.Robert Frost's work needs no appreciative comment from me. I have an old paperback selection of poems that fell apart on opening and so needed replacing. This would seem to be the only edition where I can be sure of finding what I want to read, and is also beautifully produced, laid out and bound. Everything - and more - in one volume. Highly recommended.

The Most Compact and Authentic Compilation to Know and Understand Robert Frost
Frost is my favourite poet and I love reading his works time and again. I have come across a number of editions of his poetry and other writings. But this particular compilation, a Library of America (LoA) edition, is THE one and the only one that i would recommend to anyone genuinely interested in being acquainted with Frost the poet as well as Frost the individual. Unlike the other editions, where editors have mercilessly emended Frost's original spellings, and audaciously toyed with the line arrangements of his poems, etc., Mark Richardson & Richard Poirier, the editors of this LoA edition, have refrained from such un-editorly indulgences and compiled all prominent and representative works (apart from some hitherto unpublished & uncollected pieces) of the great poet with love and with care. I have given a 5-star rating to this book also because of its binding, the quality of the pages, and the reader-friendly typeface -- all of which combine to make it a collector's item for any lover of literature.

Sophisticated poet, excellent publication
I'll leave the reviews of Frost's poetry to the critics; most are familiar with his brilliant work. The book is a luxurious hardcover edition with pages that naturally lie flat, easily readable print, and manageable layout with several indexes.Highly recommended.
