Red VanillaBlack Rice 16-Piece Dinnerware Set

I've been looking for a set of square plates for years, and this is the first affordable set I really liked. The entire set looks gorgeous; the pattern and the finish are even nicer than in the pictures. The plates and bowls have a decent heft to them, but aren't too heavy, and they've gone through a bunch of cycles in my dishwasher with no problem.My order arrived with one of the smaller plates broken, and Amazon was out of stock so the only option was a return. I contacted the manufacturer, and they were more than happy to ship me a replacement. (Better than shipping the entire set back and forth, too.)Some reviewers have commented on the weird bowls, and they are definitely too shallow, even if they look cool. However, I've found that you can place one bowl upside-down over another in the microwave, and they fit together extremely well to stop any splatters (and act as a bit of a steamer.) I'd rather they were deeper though; I just measured one of my bowls at 19oz to the brim, and only about 12oz to the highest level I'd be comfortable with carrying something like soup.Overall, I give the set a 4.5. They lose half a point because the bowls could be improved, but I'm still quite happy for the $75 I paid. I think I'll be ordering the white set to mix in, or maybe the red one...

I've had this set for a few months and so far so good. I plan to buy another set soon. If I had one criticism, I'd say the bowls need to be bigger.

I just received this in my mail today. I absolutly love the plates and bowls. The only reason I did not give this item 4 stars is I think the coffee cups were not as nice as the rest of the set. Still I can live with them. I would recommend this item to anyone!!!

This dinnerware set is elegant yet sturdy enough for everyday use. I bought this set in 2013, and as of 2020, I only have one tiny chip in one dish. That’s how well they have held up. I highly recommend buying this set. You won’t be disappointed.

AMAZING PLATES, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Just heavy enough to feel very expensive, look fantastic (pics don't do them justice) and are not easy to break (have accidentally smacked em a few times but haven't dropped any). As far as scratches I do see a couple minor scratches starting to show (a couple months of use) but you can't tell from afar or even close unless you're looking for it. The price is unbelievable compared to other websites (single plates are upwards of $15/each elsewhere)

These look fantastic, but if I had to critic them, because that is what this is, a review. They are hard to wash! If you don't have a dishwasher (we don't have a dishwasher) the fine lines on the plate, do get little particles of food stuck in between, which, can become sticky and hard to wash off, if you don't wash them right after you eat! But otherwise they look really nice!

I had my kitchen redone and was looking for modern square dishes that weren't huge. These were perfect! They are not too heavy, look great and created the look I was trying to achieve. I ordered enough for 12 settings and arrived with no major issues. Only one cup had a small chip on the handle but haven't yet had a chance to contact amazon. These do get a bit hot in the microwave and I can't fit the large dinner dish in it but that isn't a big issue for me. We have been using them for over a month and they don't scratch when you use a knife and the finish is even throughout the dish. Would reccomend

I have had these dishes for a few months, and am very satisfied. Prior to this set I had spent near $200 on what I thought was a quality brand from a nationwide chain retailer. Within the first month those were chipped. I did a lot of research before investing again; it paid off! These dishes have had typical use for a family with small children. They have been dropped in the sink, banged against cabinets/other dishes, and have endured steak knives. Each piece is still in perfect condition. No chips, no scratches! Very stylish and easy care. I couldn't be more pleased.

I LOVE my new dishes. They're solid, but not too heavy, and the matte finish gives them a very classic look. They were well packed in the box as they arrived completely undamaged in delivery. Definitely worth the money!

Fantastic Set!!! Stylish & elegant, plates are just the right size, not too big or small. The bowls are deceptively large while maintaining a minimal appearance.
