Very Informative and Engrossing
I am a huge fan of the 18th dynasty, and I thought I knew most all there was to learn. How wrong I was. I learned (almost) more from this book than many, many other books I have read. I would love to see a continuation of Thutmose's reign.

A good historical novel by a military historian
The author has written about 30 books most non-fiction military history. He was a member of the War College, an elite position, and is a military historian, so he is perfect to write a fictional biography of Thutmose III the "Napoleon of Egypt". There is a sequel, "Lion of the Sun". Both are good, very interesting and well written.

Thutmoses III Lives Again!
Richard A. Gabriel gives a vivid, uncluttered work of historical fiction about the "Napoleon of the 18th Dynasty", and it hits all the right notes. His friendships and battles are desplayed with a rich flair that brings a world of about 3400 years ago totally alive. Even if you are not a great Thutmoses III fan, the book is as good as a historical can get. And those of us who ARE fans of the original King Thut can see his life dramatized both realistically and with great dignity.
