Max Brooks' The Extinction Parade Volume 1 (EXTINCTION PARADE TP)

original fusion of the vampire and zombie mythos
Max Brooks has managed to creatively fuse both the vampire and zombie mythos with a keen clinical eye to detail. The art and color are probably the most effective at grasping the horror themes of the comic; really well written and terrific world-building. Highly recommended to fans of horror, vampire and zombie mythology.

Work a Quick Read
This was a fun, quick read. I definitely looking forward to reading more if there is a volume 2.

Perfect for the person who likes adult comics/stories.
I thought this was a book.. it’s a graphic novel. Beautiful art but not my deal. He’s a phenomenal author. Very specific style. I returned this as I’m not into adult comics.

Good for a long road trip or plane ride
Slow slow slow, but it had an intersting spin on the vampire genre. Just when things picked up is when the book ended. Good art, violence and sexual content.

The Extinction Parade - This One's A Winner!
This is a fantastic book that poses one of the great questions of all time: If Zombies and Vampires had a war, who would win? The brilliance of the book is not just in the vividness of the story telling, but the depth of the ideas presented. How, Max asks, could beings who have never had to really fend for themselves survive in a world where their support system is collapsing? Max addresses this question with elegance, depth, subtlety and a real flair for action. This one's a winner!

Good, but doesn't go far enough....
Three and a half stars.......The premise of Extinction Parade is simple. Zombies are eating all the humans, but the Vampires, who also need humans to survive, are worried about their diminishing human resource, and are force to take action. The art is excellent. The story is great, and a breath of fresh air in the stale Vampire genre. My only gripe, and the only reason I did not rate this 4 stars, is because it appears to hold back on the dialogue, and nudity. This book is gory and it pulls no punches with the kill scenes and carnage, but the authors find creative ways to hide the nudity, like they do in a Marvel mainstream comic. In a underground comic like Extinction Parade I would expect a no holds barred approach, especially sense the apparent target audience for a book like this would likely be into B horror movies , which were filled with nudity and gore. My other gripe is the dialogue. The main characters in this book are some wild and crazy female vampires, yet use words like scrotum, instead of a more vulgar term one would expect from these characters. Other than that this book is excellent and would recommend it to anybody who likes horror.

Didn't like the story, nearly not dialogue.I won't buy the other books of the serie. The artist work and colors better than the story itself.
