Most underrated fan for van life
I have a low top 2001 gmc savana and this fan is excellent at blowing out the stale, hot air and bringing in the fresh air from the outside. It also has a light which is very appreciated. Pro tip: The fan does not work well if you do not seal the borders of the interior part of the fan with sealant. I think that’s why some other reviewers saw inefficient operation. Save yourself some major $$ and buy this low profile, durable, easy to use fan.

Good, low cost vent fan for tool trailer
I purchased this fan to help keep my 7x14 tool trailer cooler during the summer months in Indiana and winter months in Florida. I do not like to keep the doors open so everyone can see my inventory of tools. I also installed a Digital LED Temperature Controller Module, XH-W3001 also purchased on amazon for about $9. I did not have an existing opening for a fan, so I had to add some 1.5" aluminum angle to "frame out" the 14x14 opening between two of the roof bows. Used some double back tape to hold the angle in place while drilling the self taping screws in from the top. The temperature controller controls the fan. I separated out the lights to operate with my existing LED lights. I included a wire diagram for the temperature controller. It does not come with any instructions. One 10.3 oz tube of Dicor 501LSW-1 Epdm Self-Leveling Lap Sealant was perfect to install 3 times around the exterior to completely cover the screws and outer lip with a little left over. I also used about 5 feet of Dicor BT-1834-1 1/8" x 3/4" x 30' Butyl Seal Tape under the lip of the fan. I have several feet left over... I have only had this installed for a week now. So far, it seems to be working well. I will update my review later once I travel to southern Florida for the winter to see how it performs on the road.

Light is a known issue
I bought two of these and noted that in the reviews that others had experienced issues with the light not working. So far one of the fans I bought the light began to partially not work, now it is totally not working. As well the vent doesn't completely close. If you're heating your RV the heat is going to escape. As well I didn't trust the seal where the outer part connects the inside section so I put a bead of silicone around the unit. So far neither vent has leaked. The fan is quite noisy as well. The more expensive model they sell is well worth the extra money but doesn't have a light.

Nice Design: OK Execution
I purchased the Mini Vent Deluxe to replace a powered vent in my bathroom on a 2008 Itasca Navion. I wanted a low profile design that would allow me to use the vent in rain as well as leave it open to help vent the coach on hot days. The roof-mounted vent/hood has a secondary hood inside that creates a half-inch air space between the 2 hoods. Louvers are cut into the sides of the internal hood to allow air to escape. This design makes it virtually impossible for rain to enter the coach even when the motorhome is traveling at high speeds (the vent opening faces backwards). The vent has a 6" fan that is reasonably quiet and pulls sufficient air to adequately vent a small bathroom. It would NOT be sufficient to vent an entire coach. The vent can be opened and closed by moving a lever which controls a baffle around the fan: Think of two upside down flat bottomed bowls nestled together with a fan inside. The bowls each have wedge-shaped openings around them so that when you align the openings the air flows out but are closed when the openings are not aligned. The only disadvantage of this design is it's not air tight so if you are camping in cold weather you are going to lose some heat. In addition, since the ceiling cover (17" x 17") is flush with the ceiling, there is no way to place an insulating pillow into the opening to prevent heat loss. I was able to improve the fit between the two "bowls" by removing one and using a heat gun to soften and bend the plastic slightly to improve the fit between the two "bowls". Installation was pretty straight-forward. You will need to provide some butyl rubber sealing tape and Dicor self-leveling caulk but everything else is included in the kit. The hardest part was removing all the residual adhesive from the roof from the factory vent. (Winnebago likes to use some sort of tar that makes a real mess so be prepared!) You will also likely need to cut the sleeve that fits between the roof vent and ceiling cover. The length of the sleeve is determined by the thickness of the roof. In addition, it is helpful to have a second set of hands to assist when simultaneously installing the sleeve, hooking-up the wiring, and installing the fan/ceiling cover assembly. Overall, the design works well. The low profile is a real plus for me since I hate the look of big vent cover so close to the edge of the roof where most bathroom fans reside on trailers and motor homes. The LED lights are a nice addition...particularly as a night-light. I knocked-off one star due to the baffle design. It seems they can improve this to reduce air leakage. But otherwise, it's a winner!

Great replacement for simple vent.
Replaced a simple vent on an 8x10 enclosed trailer used as a Refrigeration/HVAC install trailer. Easy installation, keeps enough air moving to keep us cool while unloading equipment n or looking for parts, and v still has enough clearance to pull the trailer through a drive through.

Top notch RV bathroom fan.
Put this in our RV bathroom, its designed well. The vents are such that I don’t think you would ever get any water inclusion even left open. We’re keeping it open 100% to be our condensate vent. Plus it is a nice quiet fan and a cool led light.

Don’t order
Very poor quality. I’ve had 3 of these and the light fails after very little service. This used in a travel trailer and after 15 or 20 uses the light stops working. Would not recommend
