Great Little Crackler
It's a tiny thing that can pack a punch for the volume of crackles. The reviews I read stated the people only used the low volume, and for the size of my room, that is all I need is low. As my batteries start to lose power, then I'll go up a volume until the batteries are done, and rinse - repeat. At fist I thought the crackles sounded a little "tinny" compared to what I had previously. I had an all-in-one artificial logs, with heater, illuminating logs and crackler sound for over 20 years. In getting a new log set, it did not come with the log crackles, so I purchased this crackler and it adds a nice touch to my artificial fireplace! I am very happy with this product!!

Just… No
I spent a lot of money on top of the line Dimplex electric fire logs because they are the most realistic & wanted the sound, too. This is soooooo bad. For thirty bucks I expected it would at least have decent speaker quality, but this sounds like it’s being played from inside a tin can. The repeat is super annoying, too. And it’s ridiculously loud & fuzzy sounding even on the lowest volume. I would be shocked if these cost $2 to produce. I was using a mini Bluetooth speaker before & just playing a cracking fireplace recording from Spotify & although it sounded great, it’s just annoying to not be able to just press a button- but I’ll be going back to that. I honestly do not understand the positive reviews for this. I returned it immediately.

MAKES THE ELECTRIC FIREPLACE EVEN REAL'ERER ( EVEN IF IT IS JUST SO TEENY TINY )
A couple years ago, we bought an electric fireplace insert for a tenant property. Worked well in Fall and Winter to give the look & feel of a wood or coal burning fireplace and the two ( 2 ) settings for the heater also helped. Didn't want to spring the extra $$$ for this 'crackler' at the time or God forbit the extra $ 60.00 it would have taken for a deluxe electric fireplace insert that had one built in. During recent upgrades, we decided to go for it. It works very well with the volume control in back and the remote. One big shock was just how SMALL it is. From the looks in the ad, we were expecting something that looked like an old-fashioned radio, that we would set upon the mantle, but this thing is TINY, lol. Still works, but I'm thinking that $ 30.00 + pricetag is a bit pricey. It does make the fireplace seem real-er-er now, tho', so...yeah, lol.

Works fine
It does what is supposed to do...sounds like a crackling fire, so I shouldn't complain. It just seems very cheaply made and much too expensive for what it is.

Why not have a crackling electric fireplace?
Great little white noise maker on a continuous loop. Not as much difference in the volumes as I would like (it is too loud on the lowest setting to sit on an end table or desk, tbh). High setting is a roaring fire.Still, glad I saw one to know these are available.Maybe a tad pricey for what it is, but thats everything these days.

Very happy with this! I've ordered more!
I ordered two of these - one for my gas logs in our living room fireplace, and the second for the electric stove in our sunroom. I have to admit I had some hesitation about ordering after seeing some of the poor reviews. I am glad I did not listen to them. This little system is perfect! It works well even on the lowest volume in both rooms, and it sounds quite realistic. I can't help but wonder about some of the comments in the reviews, however. Several noted that the loop was very short, and that the sounds kept repeating themselves - frankly, if someone is listening to this THAT intently, perhaps they need something else to do! Other comments referred to the price, and complained that these were overpriced, but after looking at several other similar units, some of which were over $80, I was more than happy with what I paid for mine. In fact, I have another electric fireplace coming for my bedroom, and I have ordered another of these! My only suggestions for improving this would be 1) a remote would be wonderful; and 2) get rid of the tiny screw that holds the battery box closed!UPDATE: I have to add some additional praise for this seller. I ordered another for another electric fireplace/stove unit, and somehow FedEX managed to lose it. The seller contacted me in a matter of hours, and is sending me a replacement. Very much appreciated!

Only worked for 2 days - and not well at that.
I tried to like this. It didn't sound realistic at all - sort of sounded like someone crumpling paper over and over. I figured that would be okay -I mean, my fake Fireplace doesn't look 100% real either. Not expecting perfection. That being said, the sound just was sort of laughable, I don't understand why they wouldn't just record a real fire burning so at least it sounded somewhat realistic instead of the crumpling paper. Then, the batteries died in about 2 days - I had it less than 3 days and it was done. That was enough for me. I took the advice of another reviewer - and just hooked up an old device I had, stashed it behind the fireplace so you couldn't see it and put a Fireplace Youtube video on loop - and Voila!!! Best little fireplace ever - I love it! The YouTube video sounds very realistic - it's a recording of a real fire and it sounds like it. Yay!! Success! It might even be worth buying an old device on Ebay to do this with if you don't have one hanging around like I did. Just use it for this purpose and nothing else. And - the battery never runs down either if you just leave it plugged in. Big thanks to the person who suggested that little hack - I am so happy!!!
