Great fit, cured my issues I was having. Very happy with this part.
Was a direct replacement for my 1998 Cherokee 4.0L. This completely cured my idling issues, shifting issues, and it even seems to start better now. Fitment was great, no issues. Now we will just see how long it lasts.

Perfect, but a band-aid
2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport My truck had the same exact symptoms every one else described in these reviews. I bought one of the less than $10 sensors here, while it stopped the bucking, the truck just ran poorly and started having shifting issues. I just installed the Dorman one and all of that went away, immediately. Why a band-aid? Well, because it is well known that old Jeeps like their Mopar sensors. It will be a matter of time before this one goes too, but since I can't afford a Mopar TPS at the moment, it will have to do for now. A quick tip for anyone not familiar with Jeeps and their sensors, always reset the ECU by removing the negative battery terminal from the battery for a couple of minutes. These are old trucks and a little slow on the uptake and need a slap in the back of the head every so often. You may install a sensor and it runs like crap on first start because you didn't reset the ECU. Once you do, everything should be right in the world and there will be peace in the Middle East.

Tried twice, failed twice.
I have tried two of these to try and fix the symptoms my jeep was experiencing. After the second failed 3 days after instal I started thinking something else was going on. Until I read an XJ thread where I guy said NGK/NTK, WVE and MOPAR are the same exact parts due to mergers and takeovers. So I bought an NGK sensor and the jeep has been running great. No weird shifting. No running high rpms. And all the other small stuff.

Don't go too cheap
Initially my TPS went out on my 99 Sahara 4.0, it would not run at all. I ordered one of the 12$ sensors on Amazon installed and it fired right up. It ran, I was happy about the fix. But she still ran a little rough especially when the outside temperature was 60 or below. No codes so I lived with it. Then I started to notice my rpm started to fluctuate once I was up to speed in top gear. Still no codes. After much trouble shooting and research I decided the torque converter clutch was disengaging and re- engaging causing the rpm fluctuations. Many things can cause this, the map, the TPS, the end and the brake pedal position switch. I don't know what else. So I purchased another cheap map sensor no help. Replaced the brake pedal position switch no help. So after reading more on cheap sensors , especially the TPS. I purchased the 40 $ Dorman sw. That fixed all my rough idle and clutch problems. Oem stuff is outrageous. Hope this helps someone.
