Patriot PV316G240C0KBL 16GB (2x 8GB) Viper 3 Series 2400MHz DDR3 Dual Channel Memory Kit

Bought these to use with an MSI 970 gaming motherboard and an AMD FX6300 after my previous Intel board and chip gave up the ghost.They come in a nice easy to open retail packaging and worked first time in my new motherboard, very stable although I have not tried to overclock them and they look quite nice with the black heat spreaders. Talking of heat spreaders these are not the low profile type so if you have a large cooler such as the Cooler master Hyper 212 Evo you may have to mount the cooler vertically so it does not foul the spreaders.All things considered this is great value 1600mhz DDR3 ram that works for me just great.

These were the second cheapest 8GB kit on Amazon when I bought them, I kind of thought I was taking a risk as they aren't the biggest name in memory manufacturers, but I took the plunge.Can't fault them at all, worked out of the box at the stated speeds and are actully very good overclockers, I stuck these in an MSI G45 Gaming MB and they get along just fine.If they drop a few quid I will definately get another set to max out my MB memory channels, you never know when more memory will come in handy when gaming....

I almost. ALMOST got these babies running at 2400mhz CAS12. They unfortunately don't run stable at these speeds so it isn't an option. I've noticed that others seem to be having the same problem so it's a pretty 'set' thing.They start at 1600mhz, but easily swap to 1866mhz without any modifications. By lowering the CAS by 1 you can hit 2133mhz.To hit 2400mhz, you need to up the voltage to, I think it was 1.8v, which is abnormally high, most other (better) ram is only tested to be capable of running at 1.6v max, so run this at your own risk. Although it may be worth a quick punt to see if your particular brand of RAM is capable of running stable.Don't ever change any other values less you want to fry your Mobo.Considering they're the cheapest sticks of 16GB available, I'd say they're damn good value and well worth a 5 star rating.Also 16GB of RAM coupled with an SSD is just a fantastic combination. The system will run incredibly fast.

I have been using the same RAM in my gaming pc for a long time now, something like a year, they have nothing wrong with them and I have never had any issues in the past. They are efficient at their job.

In life you pay for what you get and I can tell you guys you pay good money for this memory you get good memory for your money. Brillant stuff! from the moment you install it like Usain Bolt..... its off like a rocket!!! Ive put it through its paces (over clocking) and it is like it was asking me...."is that all you got????"Get this memeory it's every good. Highly recommended if you are looking to upgrade.

I thought they were doing their job well, until less than two months later one of them fails. I've swapped them over, tried other slots etc and it all points to a single one of the pair. And to get this replaced under warranty I have to send it off to them in the Netherlands, costing me time and postage. That's if I ever get a replacement. Not very happy at all!!!
