Durable, Efficient, User-Friendly Tool Kit
I’ve had this Orion Motor Tech Blind Hole Collet Bearing Removal Kit for a few months now, and it has really proven its worth. Recently, I used it to pull out the transfer case half shaft axle bushing on a Ford Escape, and it worked great. The kit made what could have been a frustrating and difficult job much easier and cleaner. The collet system grips the bearing firmly without damaging surrounding components, which I especially appreciated given how tight and awkward the space was. The quality of the materials feels solid, and the design is intuitive enough that setup and use were straightforward. This kit is a solid addition to any automotive DIYer or professional’s toolbox, especially if you’re dealing with blind hole bearings or bushings. It saved me time and effort and got the job done efficiently. Highly recommended!

Disappointed all the way around
I give this product a 5, ONLY for the design of it, the real disappointment is the number of reviewsThis OMT product made me very disappointed. Did not expect these type of issues from OMT. The 1st set I had to turn back in for defects. However, this 2nd set is actually worse. The first issue are the diameters of the collets themselves, most were undersized .8mm to 2.2mm. This affects the working range where it was impossible to remove a bearing, one too big, the other to small [1st kit]. Another problem, second issue is the cutting of the collet face itself. They are not 120 deg apart or offset from one another. This causes the collet not to open evenly, more like egg shape [5 of 10]. Thirdly, is the Pin Bolt, they are not heat treated hard on the tips that spreads the collet. Another issues of egg shaping. As per pic, these Pin Bolts where only use once to test the collet spreading and return to their retracted position [all were used to open the collet to 60% of max or approx half way. One could only imaged what these tips would look like after a dozen or less usages. All I can say, this collet set will deteriorate rapidly. Maybe others have had good luck. However, from what little I use it, I would NOT recommend this collet puller set. Hope this helps you.

Typical Chinese
Typical Chinese quality. If you look at it as a starting point and not a finished product you won't be disappointed. The stays are wobbly, the steel is soft and some of the threads are boogered. That being said, with a little effort getting it ready I was able to pull two races on a machine tool I am rebuilding. Worked great. the collets and threads are very soft steel so it certainly won't last for repeated operations, but for occasional use it worked great. If you want quality spend the peony and get Snap-on. For a one off use, this is the tool.

Did the job
Shipping was quick and well packed. Price fair. I had a low speed sort of howl when cornering on my older fatboy. I needed a tire so while I was at it checked the bearings and one side was rusty and binding. This kit got the races out for me. My wheels have the older tapered roller bearings and separate races. It removed the old and installed the new. Just like new now. No noise, I'm very satisfied.

Worse than garbage
How can something be worse than garbage? Because it also wastes your time in addition to not performing the function it was supposed to.I bought this for a specific job. I had two blind bearings to pull, pretty straightforward ones too, and I was successful with zero. A 0% success rate is pretty terrible. Not only are the threads really chattery and rough, still covered in dust from the manufacturing process and sharp as hell, but the puller brace is a joke. It's a floppy mess of loose-fitting pot metal parts that aren't even remotely solid enough to pull a bearing. Before I even loaded up the first attempt, I donned my safety glasses, knowing it was likely this thing would get its final revenge on me by taking me out through the eyeball. As you can see from the picture, the whole thing twisted under any reasonable amount of torque, and now it's permanently bent. How much torque you ask? I dunno, but less than it took to remove that bearing. Now, I know what you're thinking: "but, but, maybe your bearing was really stuck and it was asking too much of this puller to remove it!?" Nope, I ended up fabricobbling a blind puller from a couple washers, some half-inch bolts I had laying around, and a flange puller plate. Pulled that sucker right out.Every time I buy an OMT product, I know I'm taking a gamble, and I've been burned by several of their products in the past. Well, I think this is the last time I wager my time. I suggest you don't waste yours.

It did the job
I purchased this item for one specific job: remove an old automatic transmission filter seal in my GM 4L60E transmission as part of a fluid and filter change. It did the job well.

Kit ok for the collets, and perhaps to use the top of the counterstay with separate base
The counterstay is almost useless. As another reviewer suggested the legs are useless, but you can place the top over a couple of 2x4 or similar to have a sturdy base. The slide hammer also has a short enough distance that it will be of minimal help on most seals or bearings. The collets seem to be fine.

After purchasing multiple kits, this was the one that finally got the job done.
Working on an NP208 transfer case which has two bearings in blind holes. Harbor Freight kit only came with 4 collets and was only able to remove 1 of the bline-hole bearings. This kit has a much more comprehensive set of collets and made quick work of the job. Of the 3 kits I bought to pull these bearings, this was the only one that had the pieces needed to get the job done. The two-jaw puller made quick and easy work of getting the bearing out when the slide hammer wasn't getting it done.Definitely the go-to kit for removing blind-hole bearings.
