NOLS Canoeing (NOLS Library)

As, with most NOLS publication this book is full of useful information and up to date. All the topics are covered in sufficient detail to be useful. An excellent book for someone interested in wilderness camping/canoeing. It is not a beginners guide to recreational canoeing.

This book is well written and provides a wonderful overview of all aspects of wilderness canoeing. It is a great refresher for the experienced canoeist. It would be a good introduction for the novice. It is no substitute for actual in the outdoors, on the water experience.

Just got it and so far love it.

Read from cover to cover and then flicked through numerous times. Essential for any canoeist - especially for overnight trips, wilderness trips or planning for groups. A wealth of information from geology, hydrology to simple packing technique.
